The flotation of chalcocite, bornite, chalcopyrite, and pyrite has been studied in a microflotation cell in which the potential of a bed of the mineral particles could be controlled electromechanically. The ethylxanthate-induced flotation of each mineral is markedly dependent on electrochemical

Chalcopyrite instruction. Chalcopyrite (also called brass ore) is a kind of precious mineral source. Chalcopyrite ore is a kind of mineral can be abstracted processing copper, which has been widely used in many fields.
One of the water constituents that has not been investigated in great detail for potential detrimental effect on mineral flotation is organic matter. This study investigates the effect of natural organic materials contained in water, such as humic, fulvic and tannic acids, on the flotation of copper

Water is a necessary process medium in mineral processing. For the operations where fresh water is not available, sea water could be used as an alternative processing medium to replace the fresh ...
mining chemicals handbook metallurgist. aero promoters xanthates or reagents aerodri have a major impact on the flotation efficiency of different minerals as a function aero pyrite copper in chrysocolla and chalcopyrite copper in chal copyrite
mix mineral system consisting of chalcopyrite and pyrite with varying pyrite content (in the range 20-80 wt. %) was used to investigate the effect of pyrite content on the pulp chemistry and chalcopyrite recovery. Surface species responsible for the flotation performance of the various blends were quantified with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Flotation tests showed that the flotation ...
After chalcopyrite flotation, pyrite flotation was conducted to recover the depressed pyrite. Fig. 2 shows pyrite recovery as a function of PAX dosage in the absence of Na 2 S in pyrite flotation. Pyrite recovery increased with PAX dosage and reached nearly 90% at 60 g/t PAX.
Chalcopyrite is a fairly common mineral, and therefore only the finest of localities will be mentioned. Large, well shaped crystals occur in numerous places in …
ii Abstract This study was carried out to investigate the flotation and leaching behaviour of bornite and chalcopyrite when they are together as principal sulphide minerals.
These two minerals are important in sulphide flotation because chalcopyrite is a useful component for copper, while pyrite is often a mineral containing gold. Flotation is the principal process for preconcentration of the sulphides for subsequent smelting, roasting or hydrometallurgical treatment. However, the selective separation of chalcopyrite and pyrite minerals by froth flotation is often ...
3.1 Effects of NaOH and lime on flotation behavior of chalcopyrite and pyrite During mineral flotation, H 2 SO 4 is generally used as an acidic pH regulator, and NaOH or lime as an alkaline pH regulator. The current study examines the effects of NaOH and lime on the flotation behavior of chalcopyrite and pyrite. In the flotation test, SBX with a concentration of 0.1 mol·m -3 was used as ...

A porphyry copper ore containing chalcopyrite as the principal copper bearing mineral, and pyrite as the only other sulphide mineral, was treated in batch flotation tests under well defined ...
chalcopyrite copper through the thiol sulfur and carbonyl oxygen atoms. These findings are supported by FTIR and XPS data. DFT calculations predict two distinct adsorption geometries, one with one Cu atom to form a six-membered ring complex and another with two Cu atoms to form an "irregular pentagon"-shaped complex. 1. Samples of mineral specimen grade chalcopyrite, porphyry copper ore, and porphyry copper tailings were used in this study, nearly pure African chalcopyrite was used to determine the hydrophobic characteristics of chalcopyrite. The chemical analysis is shown in table 1. The chalcopyrite was in fairly massive pieces up to 5 cm across. No other minerals were visible in the specimen pieces.
The sequence of floatable extent of sulfide minerals in the collectorless flotation is as follows: chalcopyrite, galena, pyrrhotite, covellite, poikilite, sphalerite, pyrite and arsenopyrite. The influence factors lie in the grinding condition, pH value of flotation and the pulp potential.
Due to the discrepancies in the literature about the effect of these organics on mineral flotation, the present study will compare the effects of the OMs, humic, fulvic and tannic acids, in different concentrations in water, on the flotation of copper and molybdenum sulphide minerals in single mineral and in ore experiments.
